| Muslims torch George Bush’s effigy while protesting against Saddam’s death sentence | | | Jammu,November 10 Large number of protestors torched the effigy of the American President,Geroge Bush,while protesting against death sentence served to former Iraqi President,Saddam Hussain in Jammu on Friday. After offering Friday prayers in local Jamia Masjid groups of muslims took out a procession shouting slogans against George Bush whose effigy was burnt outside the mosque. The protesterswere holding posters of Saddam Hussain. The protesters,led by Mr Hilal Ahmed Beg,Youth National Conference leader,accused the American President of adopting anti-muslim policies by launching attacks on Afghanistan and Iraq. The angry demonstrators demanded that the death sentence served to Saddam be not implemented and George Nush should apologise to muslims in the world for his anti-Islam policies. Earlier, workers of Jammu and Kashmir Panthers Party headed by Prof Bhim Singh had torched the effigy of George Bush in Jammu and Srinagar on November 6 and 7 in separate protest rallies. |
