| Strengthen DDCs, VDCs in J&K: Mankotia | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU,Feb 4: Jammu Kashmir National Panthers Party(JKNPP),State president, Balwant Singh Mankotia urged upon the Union Home Minister P.Chidambaram to strengthen DDCs/VDCs, enhance the honorarium of SPOs and regularize them on the pattern of ReTs who have completed five years of their services.
Addressing a press conference, Mankotia said that yesterday Panthers Party has already apprised to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah at a meeting and requested him to take up the matter with Union Home Minister specially the enhancement of the honorarium of SPOs up Rs 10,000 per month who are getting just Rs 3000 per month.
He said that it was a fact that the these VDC members and SPOs have played an exemplary role to fight militancy in the state besides hundreds of their family members have been killed in the line of duty. He added that in coming Assembly Session Panthers Party will also raise the issue of DDC, VDC and SPOs forcibly so that their genuine demands should considered.
