| Seminar on transfinite mathematics held at Parade college | | | Early Times Report
Jammu Feb4: Government College for Women (GWC), Parade in collaboration with Science club organised a one day seminar on “Transfinite Mathematics” here today.
Prof S.D.Sharma, Head, Department of Mathematics, University of Jammu was the resource person and highlighted the features of mathematics in present scenario. He said that mathematics is the need of hour to make brain sharper and said that mathematics was related to prosperity of society.
Students of the college Nisha Arora, Sarabjeet Kour, Shikha, Sadhvi Jandial, Sonia, Radhika Sharma, Pooja Thapa and Arpana spoke on some topics related to mathematics.
Principal, Kiran Bakshi welcomed the guests and said that such activities are important for increasing scientific temperament among the students and their involvement enhances their capability of students.
Prof Nischintak Sharma, HOD Mathematics delivered welcome address. She described mathematics as head of the body of knowledge. Prof Anupama Gupta presented vote of thanks.
Various members of Science club and members of department of Mathematics, Prof. Anita Sharma, Prof. Rohit Gupta and Prof. Pawan Sharma were present on the occasion.
