| MARCH TO seek hanging for Guru: BJP | | | Jammu, November 10 The state unit of the BJP has decided to organize Rashtriya Suraksha Sankalp march from November 15 to 21 as part of the party’s national programme. While discussing the details of the programme newly elected BJP President Ashok Khajuria had detailed meeting with senior party leaders in Jammu on Friday. It was decided that the public rally and march was to be held in Jammu on November 20 and Bharatiya Janta Yuva morcha was instructed to launch a signature campaign at all district headquarters in support of the party’s demand for stern action aagainst terrorists including the implementation of death senctence awarded to Mohd Afzal Guru on charge of his involvement in the attack on Parliament on December 13, 2001. Mr Ashok Khajuria said that Rashtirya Surakhsa Sankalp march was being organised in protest against Congress lead UPA government's soft and indifferent approach towards anti national elements and towards steep inflation in the prices of commodities of common use. He said that soft approach towards militants and price rise were not ordinary issues but a matter of great concern that could have grave implications for the trouble torn state of Jammu and Kashmir where already National conference and PDP were raking up divisive slogans like Autonomy and self rule. Among those who attended the meeting were Mr DK Kotwal, a former BJP President, Babu Parmanand, former Governor Haryana, Ajay Jamwal, Shamsher Singh Manhas, Bali Bhagat, Kavinder Gupta, Govind Ram Sharma, Charan jit Singh Khalsa and others. Political observers said in Jammu that the proposed Rashtriya Suraksha Sankalp march and the signature campaign would be the first test to the leadership of Mr Khajuria. |
