| 3RR battalion organizes drug de-addiction process | | | Early Times Report
Anantnag Feb. 04 In its special drive against drug abuse, the 3RR battalion of the Ist Sector RR organized a drug de-addiction process under long term strategy here in South Kashmir's Anantnag District.
The aim of this process to counsel drug addicted persons and to fight against social evils in the society and to educate the masses, especially the youth about the ills of drug-abuse.
In this connection, 7 drug addict youths which include a 30 year old Fayaz Ahmad of Gadiseer, who is talking drugs from last 15 years, were taken out for necessary counseling and shifted to Srinagar based counseling center for medical aid on Thursday.
"The root cause of militancy is drugs. If the youth choose the wrong path then they get involved in crimes and drug abuse, which in turn gives rise to militancy. So we thought as we fight militancy, why not fight this evil as well. Moreover, the main source of funding of militancy is drugs and it's more dangerous than militancy to our
society”. A senior Army Officer of 3RR Said .A special check-up camp was also being organized wherein doctors gave free counseling to the drug-affected youth.
