| Doda people take to streets against district administration | | |

Jammu, 4 Feb: Residents of Bharth Road, Dessa Road and Nagri blocked the main road in front of Deputy Commissioner’s Office Doda and disrupted the traffic movement for about three hours today.
They were protesting against the alleged autocracy of district administration and closed the shops to stress their demands of unbiased marking of encroached land.
They shouted slogans against the district administration while demanding legal marking of land on both sides of link roads. The protest was led by noted social activist Chuni Lal Thakur who staged a dharna in front of Deputy Commissioner’s office.
They said that they were not against the development but demanded satisfaction as per their land papers issued by the revenue department. Moreover they alleged that the revenue department has tampered the records to protect some blue-eyed persons.
They alleged that the Deputy Commissioner Doda Farooq Ahmed Khan is the relative of Abdul Majid Wani, MLA Doda, and is working under the influence of MLA and MLC, Khalid Najeeb Shourwardhy. They alleged that the administration is working under political influence because they have dismantled the business establishments of
brother in Law of both MLA and MLC Doda. In this connection when DC Doda Farooq Ahmed Khan was contacted he denied any involvement of the administration succumbing under any political influence.However he said the reports said that the protestors were hired.
