| No action against TDC officers for Trade Union activism: HC | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Feb-05 :- In a petition filed by J&K Tourism Development Corporation Employees Union Jammu Province through its President, Chairman District Committee and General Secretary challenging the order of General Manager dated December 28, 2010 whereby officers of the rank of Assistant Managers & above have been barred from participating in trade union activities and have been threatened of termination from service, challenged. Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar of J&K High Court Jammu Wing after hearing Adv Ayjaz Lone appearing for the petitioners issued notice to Jammu & Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation through its Managing Director, Board of Directors through its Chairman Minister for Tourism and General Manager and Court ordered that subject to objections till next date no adverse action shall be taken against the petitioners on the basis of their being members of the employee’s association. In the petition it has been submitted that order dated December 28, 2010 issued by General Manager Administration whereby officers of the rank of the Assistant Manager and above of JKTDC have been barred from participating in trade union activities and from becoming member of the employee’s association, the officers who are presently affiliated to the employees association have been directed to disassociate from the association failing which such officers have been threatened of termination from the service of corporation and seeking quashment of this order and seeking direction to the respondents not to interfere in the functioning of the JKTDC Employee’s Union Jammu which has been formed for the welfare of the employees of the corporation and has been registered with the Registrar of Trade Union J&K under Trade Union Act.
