| MEETING TAKEs STOCK OF SPURT IN INFILTRATION | | |

Sudden spurt in the level of infiltration figured during a discussion senior functaries of state intelligence agencies including Intelligence bureau,BSF (G) and army had with the Union Home Ministry officers in Delhi on Friday.
The meeting was chaired by Chairman of the Joint Intelligence committee DrSD Pradhan and officers of various state and central intelligence agencies.
Official sources told Kashmir Independent Press that in the meeting it was for the first time figures and analysis give by the State intelligence agencies was accepted and supported by senior functaries of the other intelligence agencies including the army top brass.
It was on this basis that the Union Home Ministry has decided to include state intelligence agencies in the multi-tier intelligence network so that coordination among all these agencies was further improved for giving sepcific inputs on the plans of militants and on the infiltration routes militants were using for crossing in to Jammu and Kashmir.
It also decided during the meeting that a similar meeting of state intelligence agencies along with other agencies would be held in December in Delhi. |
