| Chib appreciates media for disseminating information to people | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Feb 5: Minister for Medical Education R. S. Chib has appreciated role of media in disseminating the information of public welfare and other programmes of the government to the people.
Minister was speaking at the concluding day of the 17th Bharat Nirman Public Information Campaign (PIC) held at Samba. He said that media is playing a vital role for generating awareness among the people especially in rural area about the host of welfare schemes and development programme of the government which are directly or indirectly instrumental in transforming the socio-economic conditions of the people particularly of the rural area.
Minister inspected all the forty stalls put up by the Central/ State government departments highlighting the respective people oriented welfare programmes displayed in each stall. Later, the Minister also inspected the construction work of sports stadium Samba and instructed the Executing Agency (PWD) to speed up the construction work and ensure its completion within the stipulated time. He expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister for releasing Rs. 50 lakhs more so that the work is completed within the time frame.
