| Nehru yuva organizes district sports mela at Bishnah | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Feb 5: Minister of State for Power, Shabir Khan has said that government has taken several steps to provide wholesome education to the students giving equal thrust on co-curricular activities also.
Speaking at a function organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra at Government Higher Secondary School Bishnah, Minister appreciated organization for holding District Sports Mela which, he said will help in acquainting the students of the area with various sports activities. He said that each Government school from Middle to Higher Education level has been provided sports infrastructure and staff, besides special thrust is being given to develop play fields and sports stadia across the State.
He said co-curricular activities along with academics are essential for overall development of the youth as physical and mental health are co-related. Former Minister, Gulchain Singh Charak, State Coordinator Nehru Yuva Kendra, Nisar Azad, Principal Degree College Bishnah, Head Masters of various High Schools, besides a large number of students and locals were present on the occasion.
Minister presented trophies to the students and volleyball kits to sports teams, who have excelled and participated in various sports activities organized during the event. He wishes them a bright future and hoped that they will further chisel their sports talent to bring laurels to the State and nation as well.
