JMC removes unauthorised constructions in city | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Feb 5: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) on Saturday removed illegal constructions in different parts of the city. During a day-long drive launched under the instructions of JMC Commissioner, S C Sawhney, the Enforcement Staff led by Chief Enforcement Officer, Satish Khajuria alongwith police personnel demolished unauthorized construction at Nai Basti, Trikuta Nagar and Bazigar Basti Bahu Fort. The team demolished the RCC slab of unauthorized construction on second floor raised by one Suresh Kumar at Nai Basti, Jammu. It also removed the encroachment near Nullah at Sector number 4 and 5, Trikuta Nagar by demolishing the ongoing construction. A side wall and pillars which were raised by one Kartar Chand by encroaching upon part of lane causing inconvenience to the neighbourers and passers by at Bazigar Basti Bahu Fort was also demolished. The team also cleared the footpath at Bikram Chowk leading to Jammu University by removing the rehris and seized the articles and goods like vegetables sacks, weighing scales, crates, stoves, tables, utensils and besides removing the kiosk found fixed upon footpath. The Corporation has appealed to the general public to refrain from making encroachments and unauthorized constructions otherwise action as admissible under rule leading to demolition will be taken against such defaulters.
