KATRA, Feb 6: World famous pilgrimage of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi recorded highest number of pilgrims’ last year. However, after paying obeisance to the mother goddess, several devotees often desire to visit nearby pilgrim and other tourist stations.
However, for the last few years, devotees of Mata Vaishno Devi have been visiting historical Lord Shiva Shiv khori temple. If developed fully, tourist flow to these tourists is likely to touch new heights. Endowed with immense beauty and numerous scenic spots, famous shrines and ancient monuments in Reasi district in general and around the Katra town in particular, Katra needs proper strategy, infrastructure facilities with beautification of spots to attract devotees.
An elaborate tourism promotional publicity plans for this must be put into action besides locating of new tourist spots. Rajesh Sadhotra, Rajan kumar, Rajesh heera, Madan dogra, Behari suri, Surinder Advocate,Pritam pujari, Brij mohan sadhotra too exhorted upon Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Tourism Minister Nawang Rigzin jora to constitute a high level consultative committee with experts connected with tourism industry, the media, planners economists, administrators and business to enhance tourism related and other economic activities.
