MAM College organises tree talk | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 6: Continuing with renewed zeal and enthusiasm, tree talk participants today took keen interest in morning walk with tree talk organized inside MAM College today. Despite mild drizzle, windy weather and cloudy sky, morning walk with tree talk started with a new hope and new mission to focus on revival of folk traditions related to trees and forests especially in this International Year Of Forests when world is focusing on better management, conservation and preservation of forests. Folk healer Gopal Krishan Sharma elaborated folk and Ayurvedic uses of trees. Participants from Kashmir namely Hilal Ahmad Mir and Abdul Rehman Lone presented their compositions in a befitting manner to sensitize participants about Kashmiri Poetry and culture. Dr. Sharda Potukuchi from SMVDU Katra spoke on new biotechnological innovations in the field of tree conservation and need for adopting eco-friendly models of development .Prof Yash Pal, Director Floriculture K.K.Sharma talked about latest initiatives taken to beautify city environment. NCC coordinator Karan Singh presented vote of thanks.
