Chib assures early compensation for damaged crops | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Feb 06- Minister for Medical Education, Youth Services and Sports, R.S. Chib today conducted a day-long extensive tour of border villages of R.S.Pura and assessed the development requirements and problems confronting the people. Addressing a series of meetings at Sai Khurd,Sai Kalan, Hansa, Chakrohi, Tibh Talai, Haripur and Gharana, the Minister issued on the spot instructions to the officers for early action on the point raised by people with regard to upgradation of roads, improvement in the power supply and augmentation of irrigation facilities. Chib assured the people of Sai Khurd that their demand of compensation for the damaged crop will be taken up with the Revenue Minister for early disbursement of compensation. He issued instructions to the R&B authorities for urgent estimation of vital link road of 3.75 kms length from New Camp Sai to Bidipur and approach road to the cremation ground in the village so that these could be taken up for upgradation. At Hansa, Chib assured the people to further improve the irrigation facilities in the area by providing pump sets to the farmers. At Chakroi, he assured for proper development of a playground for the sports loving children and also announced cricket kits to the local cricket team. At Tibh village, he inspected the drains and lanes and assured further improvements. At Gharana, the Minister asked the authorities of Parks and Gardens for a comprehensive project for development of park on the 18 kanals of government land. He said a wetland will also be developed in the area which will prove helpful in transformation of socio- economic conditions of the people of the area. He also announced construction of approach road to the cremation ground as demanded by the people of the village. The Minister also said that link roads from Haripur- Dangri, TibahBhai- Bajachak, Gharana -Bakerpur, Gharana to Bhooma will be constructed on priority basis in view of the difficulties being faced by the people of the area. He also said a Panchayat Bhawan in Haripur will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 18 lakh. The Minister was accompanied by Sub-Divisional Magistrate, A.K. Khajuria and other Tehsil Officers of various departments.
