| Billawar TSO, storekeeper placed under suspension | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Feb 6: Following complaints of pilferage of ration meant for BPL families of Billawar and Bani tehsils of Kathua district, the Department of CA&PD has put Tehsil Supply Officers, Billawar and Bani and storekeepers, foodstores Bilawar and Bani under suspension with immediate effect.
This is to ensure impartially in the enquiry ordered by the Minister for CA&PD conducted by a Committee comprising two Deputy Directors of the Department.
According to a Press release of the Department, the Committee has also been directed to look into the role of the Assistant Director, CA&PD Kathua and Departmental Supervisor of FCI Kathua in the matter.
The Committee has been directed to ascertain the failure of the Department officials in adhering to the instructions of engaging vehicles only through SRTC. The Committee has been directed to furnish its report within one week.
It is pertinent to mention that following some reports of pilferage of ration at Sarswati Roller Flour Mill, meant for the BPL families of the district immediately the Department constituted a high level Committee to enquire in to the complaint.
