Payment of arrears | EJAC reject govt roadmap, gears up for Feb 21 protest rally | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 6: Jammu and Kashmir Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) has rejected roadmap announced by the government for the release of 6th Pay Commission arrears of the employees In a meeting of the EJAC held here under the chairmanship of Abdul Qayoom Wani, members outrightly rejected roadmap announced by government for the payment of the arrears and decided to take out protest rally in City on February 21. Wani pointed out that as per the so-called roadmap, the employees will not be able to get their dues even in next five years. He pointed out that sky rocketing prices of the essential commodities have disturbed the kitchen budget of the employees and on the other side the State Government was avoiding to release the dues of the arrears to the employees. He also stressed for the joint strategy and collective struggle for getting employees pending demands redressed. Wani said that government was playing with the sentiments of the employees. He said that Government would be compelled to come up to the expectations of the employees. He appealed all the trade union leaders to come forward and launch joint struggle for the fulfillment of genuine and pending demands of the employees of the state. Announcing to continue their struggle, he said rallies would be taken out separately in Jammu and Srinagar on February 21 to protest against the delaying tactics of the government. Senior leaders while speaking on the occasion appealed all the trade union leaders to come forward for the collective struggle. They pointed out that due to price hike and denial of 6th Pay Commission arrears, the employees are dejected and frustrated. The employees are being forced to launch agitation. It has only adopted the delaying tactics and announcement of roadmap for employees' arrears which is mere eyewash has totally been rejected. In his address, EJAC member Ganesh Khajuria described this road map as cruel joke with the employees and workers. The meeting was attended by representatives from different associations of employees. Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum leaders Surinder Choudhary and Vinay Sharma raised long-pending demands of ReT teachers including inclusion of five years service for promotional benefits. Darshan Kumar, Kiran Choudhary, Dharam Paul, Jagdish Singh, Rajinder Singh also spoke on the occasion
