Sagar reviews ongoing development activities in Srinagar

Srinagar, Feb 6 : Minister for Rural Development and Parliamentary Affairs, Ali Mohd Sagar conducted an extensive tour of Srinagar City and took stock of the pace of various ongoing development schemes.
The Minister also visited Aasaar-i-Sharief Shahri Kalashpora and Astaani-i-Aaliya Jenab Sahab Soura and got feedback of the ongoing development works and arrangements with regard to celebration of Eid-i-Milaad.
Sagar inspected sewerage plant coming up at the cost of 132 crore at Jenab Sahab Soura Sabzi Market and was informed that so far more than Rs 41 crore has been spent on this project. However, the Minister instructed the engineers of the executive agency NBC under NRUM to complete it immediately so that the people and traffic do not face any difficulty.
Meanwhile, during his visit of Aasaar-i-Sharief Shehri Kalashpora, the Minister took stock of the arrangements made for Eid-i-Milaad –un-Nabi (SAW). The Minister asked the officers accompanied with to ensure uninterrupted power supply, smooth supply of drinking water, sanitation and smooth traffic during the auspicious days, so that the devotees do not face any difficulty.
Later, Sagar also paid obeisance at the Aastaani Aaliya Jenab Sahab Soura. On this occasion, Sagar addressed a large number of people and said that the present Govt. is committed to solve their problems on priority basis.
Meanwhile, many Mohalla Committees and people individually met the Minister and put forth their problems.
Earlier, the minister released a book titled “Kashmir Education Guide” published by Mirza Sons at his residence. He said the book has valuable information about all the schools and different schemes of scholarships and the admissions of different colleges and universities of country.
On this accession, many delegations from Sopore, Bandipora, Magam, Budgam, Qazigund, Lethpora, Bijbhehara and Alasteng met the minister and apprised him about their problems.
The minster was accompanied by executive engineers of NCB, Municipality, UEED, Sewarage and Drainage and Secretary Wakf Board.
