| Agriculture assistants call off strike | | Mangat describes Agri. Graduates back bone of Farm sector | |
Srinagar, November 10 Minister for Health and Medical Education Mr. Mangat Ram Sharma today said that government is fully aware of demands of in service Agriculture Graduates and appropriate action to redress these after proper consultations with the concerned department would be taken. He was addressing Non-Gazetted Agriculture Graduates after they called off their strike on persuasion of Mr. Sharma here on Friday. Former MLA Mr. Shiv Dev Singh, Director Command Area Development Mr. Manzoor Ahmad Shah, Director Agriculture Mr. M. Farooq Hakak were present. Mr. Sharma said that Agriculture Graduates are fundamental functionaries of the department and transfer of latest agriculture technology from lab to land lies on their shoulders to boost agriculture production in the state. Responding to their demands Mr. Sharma said that steps are afoot and has already been taken up with Agriculture Minister to accommodate most of their genuine demands. Agriculture Graduates expressed confidence in Mr. Sharma and assured that they will come to the expectation of the authority and work tirelessly to help boost agriculture production in the state. Later Mr. Sharma distributed certificates among the different agriculture functionaries who completed training in 5-day workshop on organic farming. The workshop was organized by Regional Centre of Organic Farming, Government of India in collaboration with Agriculture Department Jammu. |
