| Childline holds city advisory board meeting | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Feb 7: A review meeting of the City Advisory Board (CAB) of CHILDLINE, Jammu was today held in the office of the District Magistrate, Jammu.
Meeting was chaired by Addl. District Magistrate, Jammu Vivek Sharma. While welcoming the participants, Director, CHILDLINE Dinesh Gupta briefed about various initiatives taken by the Childline, Jammu under the guidance of the District Magistrate. A documentary on the theme “CHILDREN IN DISTRESS” was also shown on the occasion.
City Incharge (Northern Region) of Childline India Foundation, New Delhi Chandan Kumar gave a Power Point Presentation on the structure and various other initiatives being taken at the National level under the aegis of the Ministry of Women and Child Development. He also expressed his gratitude to the DM, ADM and all the CAB Members for all the support.
ADM Vivek Sharma appreciated efforts of CHILDLINE for the good work done and appealed all the functionaries present to give utmost priority to cases bought-out by Childline office so that the child does not suffer anymore. On behalf of the District Administration she also assured full co-operation.
Issues discussed included Admission of Children in Homes, Strengthening of Juvenile Welfare Board, Jammu, Providing of Toll Free phone service by the Private Telephone service providers, more awareness through Print and Electronic Media, Installation of hoardings at prominent places carrying CHILDLINE messages and Construction of an independent Home for such children whose parents /whereabouts etc. are not known.

Rajni Sehgal, SSP Rajeshwar Singh, Nodal Officer Dr. Priyanka Sharma, Director SOS villages Kuldeep Sharma, Secretary Bal Niketan K.K.Mengi, Patron/Secretary A.K.Arora/A.K.Khajuria SoS Channi Rama, Jt. Commissioner, JMC Babu Ram, Smt. Ruchi Chouhan and Coordinator Childline O.P.Gupta & S.C.Bali actively participated and gave various suggestions for achieving the objectives.
