Rotary Club distributes desks among schools in Darhal

DARHAL, Feb 7: Rotary Club of Darhal Malkan distributed desks to Schools here on Sunday as part of matching grants project of Rotary International.
In a press note issued here today, it has been stated that club distributed 100 double seated desks among three government Schools in Darhal. 70 desks were given to two Higher Secondary Schools (Girls and Boys) in Darhal, whereas 30 desks were donated to Government High School, Doda. District Planning officer, Arif Malik, District Coordinator of Rotary District 3070, K.K. Langer, and Imam of Jamia Masjid, Darhal, Hafiz Mohammed Sayeed, handed over desks to the heads of three institutions in an impressive function held at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Darhal.
Speakers applauded the Role of Rotary International for serving humanity in general and especially Rotary Club Darhal for its exemplary service to community through various innovative programmes during past one year. Impressed by noble works of Rotary and its service to mankind, with a spirit of “Service above Self”, both Imam of Mosque and District planning Officer joined the Rotary.
In an attempt to fight extreme poverty and bring about broader understanding, Rtn. K.K. Langer announced to adapt 6 needy students, 3 each from two Madrassas in Darhal. Earlier, President of club, Dr. M. Ashaq Raza, introduced the Rotary International to audience and assured to render further help in other institutions of area especially introduction of IT education in Madrassas through this organization in near future.
Rashid Qamar, Vice president of Rotary club, Darhal, Ashish Langer, President (Elect) of Rotary Club Rajouri, Abdul Qayoom Mir, founder of Sher-e Kashmir Higher Secondary, Darhal, Safeer Malik, Principal, Govt. Girls Higher secondary School, Darhal, Karamatullah Dard and Abrar Malik also spoke on the occasion. Prominent among others who attended the function besides a large number of locals, govt officials, staff of schools, volunteers of Peace NGO - Attitude Change International, Rotarians from Rotary Clubs Rajouri and Darhal include Er. Vikram Singh, Shakeel Ahmed Choudhary, Dr. Sajjar Malik, Dr. Pervaish Vaid, Tanveer Choudhary, Saboor Malik and Zaheer Mir.
