5-day training programme for NGO functionaries concludes | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 7: A five-day training programme organized for the NGO functionaries of Jammu region by the Department of Lifelong Learning of the University of Jammu with the objective of capacity enhancement of the voluntary and community workers, concluded here today. A total of 25 functionaries of various voluntary, charitable, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and community/grass root level workers of Jammu region participated in this training programme. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Kavita Suri hoped that the community leaders and NGOs functionaries who participated in the training programme would be largely benefitted by it in their day-to-day field outreach and extension activities. She informed that DLL would soon start such training for voluntary, social and charitable organizations. She added that those who would be interested in participating in the similar training should contact the Department of Lifelong Learning. President, J&K Confederation of voluntary and Charitable Organizations H.N.Tiku said that Lifelong Learning department is doing a commendable task in organizing such training programmes which are actually need based and would strengthen the society in a great manner. He congratulated Dr Suri for the conduct of the successful training programme. In the five day training programme, Prof. Indu Aima, Dr. C.M.Seth, H.N.Tiku, Dr Renu Nanda, Dr. Sarika Manhas and Dr Samridhi Arora both from Department of Home Science, Suman Mahaldar, Dr. Amisha Gupta and Dr Komal Nagar, both from The Business School, JU, Dr. Vishwa Raksha and Dr. Hema Gandotra, both from Department of Sociology,JU, Rajiv Chuni and Nadeem Qadri, Advocate & RTI activist, J&K, covered various themes.
