How many Chief Secretaries are presently working in the state of Jammu and Kashmir? Officialy there is only one but reports suggest that two live in the Jammu city alone.
The official residence of the Chief Secretary at Wazarat Road continues to display the name of
SS Kapur. The incumbent Chief secretary Madhav Lal who took over the charge from SS Kapur on February 1 is yet to shift in the official residence. He is putting up at his personal residence in Channi Himmat area of Jammu.
The new Chief Secretary is expected to shift to the official residence soon after the former chief secretary vacates the premises along with his bag and baggage. The state estates department is also scheduled to carry out few maintenance works inside the official residence keeping it ready for the new chief secretary for shifting.
