CS inspects pace of work on Jagti Township | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, FEBRUARY 08- Chief Secretary, Madhav Lal on Tuesday inspected the status of work on the Jagati Township which is in the last phase of completion. The township spread over an area of 716 kanals, having 4218 flats besides all other basic facilities, including internal roads, educational and health institutions, has been developed to rehabilitate Kashmiri Migrants under the Prime Minister’s Rehabilitation and Return Package for the Kashmiri Migrants. Chief Secretary went round the township and inspected the status of work on the flats and other infrastructure coming up in the township. The Chief Secretary was informed that the work on flats, roads, community centres, electrification, water supply, sanitation drainage, development of parks, 45 shops and common facility centre is almost complete and would be ready for allotment by next month. He was informed that the work on hospital, Old Age Home and Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) would continue beyond March 2011. However, alternate arrangements for medical centre are being made. A playground measuring 15 kanals which was under possession of the company for providing accommodation to labourers has been cleared and levelling work will be completed by March 10, the authorities told. He was also informed that 10 park strips along the main road are also being developed the work on which is apace. A team of senior officers of Revenue and Relief departments including Commissioner/Secretary, Revenue Eijaz Iqbal and Relief Commissioner Vinod Koul accompanied the Chief Secretary during his tour.
