SS appreciates Flood Control deptt for maintaining Tawi’s sanctity | | | EARLY TIMES Jammu, Feb 8: Sangram Sena has appreciated the efforts of Naresh Kumar ( XEN, Flood Control ) and Terath Ram (AEE, Flood Control) and their staff for not allowing the trucks of Jammu Municipal Corporation to throw heaps of garbage into the sacred Tawi River. They said that Tawi River is considered to be as a sacred and holy river of Dogra of Jammu. They criticized the P.H.E minister for indiscriminate attitude toward Jammu Region. They said the Govt has given and sanctioned a fund of Rs 500 crores for cleaning the Dal Lake and only Rs 3 crores have been given for cleaning the big Tawi River of Jammu. This is indiscriminate attitude of coalition govt towards Jammu region and exhorted upon the PHE minister to give equal amount of money for both rivers and to end this indiscriminate attitude so that Jammu region should not be exploited. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Ram Rattan Raina in Jammu University. In this meeting, President of Dogra Liberation Front, Ram Paul Sharma was also present and attended by Rattan Singh Langey (gen. secy), Aman Mahajan (president Jammu University S.S), Rajesh Banathia (chief organiser (S.S) Ajiz Khan (president ward 6), Joginder Joshi, Raju Jamwal president Ward 8, Kulbusahn Gupta (chief advisoor), Rajesh Sudan (ward-21 president).
