| Security to be beefed up during Assembly session | | | Early Times Report
Jammu,Feb 8 :-Senior functionaries of various security and intelligence agencies are scheduled to meet shortly in Jammu for preparing a foolproof security system during the budget session of the state legislature beginning from February 28 in the state's winter capital.
Official sources said that a three-tier security ring was being thrown round the entire complex of the state legislature and the civil secretariat.
A number of CCTVs are being installed right from the Shalimar Chowk to the Legislative complex and from Kachi Chawni area to the civil secretariat, sources said. A few shall be installed on the backside of the civil secretariat and on the route that links the MLA hostel and the legislative complex.
New metal detectors shall also be installed at each entry point and the security personnel guarding the civil secretariat and the Assembly premises have been directed to carry out thorough frisking of each and every visitor.
Sources said that additional companies of police and paramilitary forces were being deployed in and around the Legislature complex.At least two companies of police were being deployed in civies in and around the complex to keep a watch on people and all those visiting or entering into the complex.Besides this the deployment of intelligence sleuths was being further strengthened.
Police sources said that compared to Srinagar the situation in Jammu was less disturbing but "we are leaving anything to chance."They said that some opposition groups planned to launch an agitation and in the process they may stage dharnas or rallies outside the complex but it was no a cause of any worry as "our forces were fully prepared to handle these protest r allies."
They said the only worry was about the plans of the militants. They said the latest intelligence inputs did not reveal anything that could be a cause of worry still one has to strengthen the security grid to ensure that no anti-national or anti-social element was able to create chaos and confusion within the legislative complex.(
