Soz knocks at Sonia’s door, seeks action | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 9: Congress high command has purportedly decided to deal firmly with the problem of dissidence within the state unit of the party in Jammu and Kashmir. Party sources said that the high command has expressed satisfaction with the working of PCC Chief Prof. Saif-ud-Din Soz. They added that Soz had been summoned by AICC chief after she had received reports of growing infighting between loyalists of Soz and Azad camp. Sources further said that Soz informed Sonia about the activities of the dissidents, alleging that leaders of Azad camp had not only maligned the image of the Congress in Jammu and Kashmir but made it difficult for PCC Chief to infuse discipline in the organization also. According to these informed sources, Soz conveyed to Sonia Gandhi, that National Conference leadership had started taking the congress for a ride in Jammu and Kashmir because of the infighting in the state unit of the Congress. Reports said that Sonia was also informed about the damage caused to the congress in the state after Azad loyalists organized parallel functions and rallies on various occasions. Sources averred that Soz was assured of redressing the situation. |
