Manohar Lal conducts open darbar at Mela | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT KATHUA, FEB 9 – In order to listen to the problems of people of Kandi area at their doorsteps and to mitigate them on the spot, Minister for Cooperatives, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma today convened an open darbar at Government High School, Hiranagar. The people of the area apprised various demands to the Minister related to power supply, ration supply, and road connectivity, shortage of teaching staff and payment of pending payments of NREGA works. The people demanded construction of road from Patyari to Mela. They also demanded construction of lanes and drains in village Mela. replacement of old electric wires with new ones. They demanded opening of fair price shop in the village for the benefit of the people. The people of the village demanded opening of branch of Jammu Central Cooperative Bank in the village. Responding to the demands, the Minister directed the PDD department to make estimate for the provision of electric polls. He said APL ration will be provided to the people soon. The minister directed the BDO to execute seven works under NREGA and prepare estimates for the construction of boundary wall of the school. The Minister also directed the PWD authorities to renovate the schools building and prepare estimate for blacktopping the link road connecting school. He asked the Manager, JCC Bank to conduct survey for the opening of bank branch in the village as demanded by the people of the village
