Lecturers’ observe protection day | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu Feb 9: All J&K Plus 2 Lecturers’ Forum observed ‘Protection Day’ across the State against the failure of government in implementing the Cabinet decision for regularization of incharge incumbents in School Education Department. The cadre organised protest rallies in all the three regions of the State and assembled at District headquarters where the District Presidents led the processions and handed over the memorandum to the concerned Deputy Commissioner for onward submission to the state Chief Minister Omar Addullah and Minister for Education Peerzada Mohammed Sayeed. Addressing the gatherings, the District Presidents criticised the government for its failure in implementation the cabinet decision of March 29 last year for regularization and also for not extending the benefits of Running Pattern and Placement of Cadre in Pay Band No. 3. At Jammu, all the members of the Cadre from entire Jammu District assembled at Gandhi Chabotra Mubarak Mandi where a strong protest was registered against the Uttar failure of Government in implementing its own decisions. Addressing a huge gathering of cadre, H.D. Qureshi the state President of the Forum blamed the Government for deliberate delay in implementing the decision for regularization that has forced the plus 2 Community to adopt the agitational path. Qureshi appealed the State Chief Minister and Minister for Education for personal intervention to get the decision of State cabinet implement and save the cadre in this hour of crisis where about 7000 incharge incumbents are awaiting their confirmations since 1998 that include lectures, Headmasters, Principles and other Senior Officers despite categorical decision of Cabinet for regularisation. On the occasion, he warned the government for the consequences if it continues with the callous attitude and causal approach and served an ultimatum of 20 days for redressal of genuine grievances of the cadre. Latter on the Central leadership of the Forum led by the its state President H.D. Qureshi along with Dr. Manzoor Ahmed President Kashmir Province handed over the “Protest Memorandum” to the Chief Minister and Minister of Education in the Civil Secretariat at Jammu. Others who addressed the protesting gathering include Charan Dass, Manmeet Bali, N.S. Jamwal and Bashir Ahmed, Ashwani Sharma, B.D. Sharma and many others.
