| Centenary function of SPG Mission hall celebrated | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Feb 9: Alexander Memorial School celebrated the Centenary of the Historic SPG Mission Hall situated in the school premises on February 9. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah inaugurated the Church Hall built in 1911.
The material for construction of the same especially the kiln brunt clay bricks and semi-cylindrical tiles were then transported from Sialkot and the Church was built by the local workmen.
The Church Hall is now named after Revd. Cowie, the founding pioneer of Alexander Memorial School, by Rt Rev P.K Samantaroy Bishop of the Diocese of Amritsar, Church of North India who also dedicated it and Archdeacon of Birmingham, (UK), Venerable Hayward Osborne blessed it.
A large number of high dignitaries and community members also graced the occasion.
The vote of thanks was presented by Ex- MLC S.M Gill.
