CS stresses on speeding up departmental enquires | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 9: Chief Secretary Madhav Lal today laid emphasis on monitoring output in the government even as he asked for minimizing pendency of departmental enquiries by speeding up the process of probes. Chairing a meeting of Administrative Secretaries here this morning, Chief Secretary asked the administrative heads of departments to ensure periodic monitoring and evaluation of the activities of their respective Departments. He said that reporting, as an important management tool, should be used to appraise the higher ups about not only the achievements but also shortcomings and difficulties in achieving the set targets. Chief Secretary asked the administrative heads to ensure that pendency of Departmental enquiries is minimized by speeding up the process of conducting enquiries. He was told that there are around 250 Departmental enquiries pending adjudication. He asked the General Administrative Department to circulate Department-wise the list of such cases so that these are taken up at appropriate levels. On the occasion, Principal Secretary, Planning and Development, Khurshid Ahmad Ganaie made a power point presentation about the salient features of RFD. He said the document aims to monitor and evaluate achievements against set targets.
