| Handicraft Corporation to facilitate sale of saffron at its show rooms: Mir | | |

Jammu, February 10:- On the intervention of Agriculture Minister, Ghulam Hassan Mir, the Handicrafts (S&E) Corporation limited has agreed to facilitate saffron growers to sell their produce through its 11 showrooms across the country.
This step has been taken with a view to provide marketing facilities to the saffron growers of the state to enable them to get better returns for their produce.
The new arrangement was agreed upon after the Agriculture Minister took up the issue with Managing Director Handicrafts (S&E) Corporation limited, S. A. Tak today on the demand of saffron growers who met the Minister this morning.
The Corporation has agreed to lift the saffron from the growers on sale- cum-return basis and put it for sale at its showrooms in different cites of the country. It was decided that the Corporation would lift the produce only after checking the quality and proper grading and accordingly pay back to the growers after the product was sold.
After terms and conditions for the new arrangements are finalized, the interested saffron growers would be asked to deposit their products at the offices of Handicrafts(S&E) corporation for sale at its Showrooms, the Minister said.
