Make police-public mela a grand public attraction: Khoda | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, February 10: Director General of Police (DGP), Kuldeep Khoda today said that welfare of families of police martyrs has always remained on priority of the Jammu and Kashmir Police Organization. He said that these martyrs have fought bravely to safeguard save the lives and property of the people of the State and to assist their families is primary concern of police. The DGP was addressing a meeting of Executive and Managing Committee of Jammu and Kashmir Police Parivar at Police Headquarters here this evening. The meeting was held to review the arrangements for Police Public Mela, being held on February 13 at Police Sports Stadium, Gulshan Ground Jammu. He said that Jammu and Kashmir Police has introduced various schemes for the welfare of wards of police martyrs and their families. He said that the objective behind organizing the police-public melas is to generate resources for strengthening police welfare fund so that the families of martyrs are provided a helping hand. Khoda said that police public mela also provide opportunities to a common man to purchase various useable items under one roof at reasonable rates. He said that the melas also strengthen the police-public relations which are useful for better policing. Among others, the meeting was attended by Additional Directors General of Police, K. Rajindra Kumar and Dr. Ram Lubhaya, Inspectors General of Police, Smt. D. R. Doley, Navin Aggerwal, Dilbag Singh, Sheikh Owais Ahmed, Dr. B. Srinivas, A. K. Chowdhery and H. K. Lohia, Deputy Inspectors General of Police, Farooq Khan, P. R. Manhas, Yoginder Koul, T. Punchok, Danish Raina, A. S. Bali and J. P. Singh, Senior Superintendents of Police, R. K. Chalotra, Aftab Ahmed Kakroo, AIG (Welfare) Nisha Nithyal and other police officers.
