| JD Institute holds workshop with designer Smit Raj Gayanani | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Feb 10: Noted Fashion designer Smit Raj gayanani was invited over to JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Jammu centre to hold a special workshop for the students of Jammu .
Smit Raj has many successful assignments to his credit, like designing for reality shows on MTV splitsvilla, MTV roadies, Channel V get gorgeous.
Besides these Smit Raj has recently showcased his collection at the Van Hesen Men fashion Week 2010 in Delhi and has his own designer label ‘Smit’.
Smit Raj is also a JD institute, Delhi alumini and today conducted a workshop on the job prospects for the budding designers. The whole exercise was to prepare them for the upcoming JD fashion show, where these students would get a chance to compete at a national level
Smit Raj would also be taking in two JD Jammu student designer for internship under him in 2011.
Maansi Gupta, centre director, JD Jammu, said that such workshops provide a lot of exposure to the students and also help them in getting an insight into the garment industry.
She also said that, such workshops are organised to broaden the vision of the students and to provide them with national level exposure sitting at Jammu.
She also expressed her happiness over the fact that the students would get to do internship under the able guidance of Smit Raj Gyanani and further added that JD Jammu has many more such events lined up for the coming year as well
