| NC workers hold protest against police atrocities | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Kathua Feb 10: The district executive members of National Conference held a protest against the police atrocities on the district president youth wing of NC Harpreet Singh here today
The protest led by its district president Dhian Chand in front of Kathua Secretariate demanded suspension of Sub- Inspector, special branch, CBI Ashok Gupta who had allegedly beaten up the NC youth leader while he was leading a deputation in connection with investigation of murder case.
Meanwhile, Dhian Chand threatened that the entire district team of the National Conference was ready to approach CM Omar Abdullah. He said that if the workers of the ruling NC party were mercilessly beaten up by police, then it means the police has lost its moral and all limits of rules and regulation.
Later, they met DC Zahida Khan and demanded immediate suspension of the Inspector Ashok Gupta. Khan assured the investigation and action against the Inspector who had violated the limits of laws.
They, later, warned the administration to face the protest demonstrations, agitation and dharnas if the Inspector would not be suspended.
Others who were present included Zalim Singh, Ravinder Slathia, Ramesh Ladu, Simranjit Singh, Mohinder Paul and Jeevan Parkash.
