Cell use in education institutions still go unabated | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 10: Despite a ban on the use of mobile phones by schoolchildren in educational institutions, the students use the gadgets in the premises, while authorities seem sleeping. Violating the norms of education, students and staff too are engaged in this use of mobile phone in education institutions without any fear. Amazingly, the students carry heavy gadgets like the I-Phones and the Blackberry worth Rs 20,000 to 30,000 to their schools. This is what the principal of a higher secondary school in city discovered some days ago during surprise inspection. Pertinently, some three-year ago government had imposed a blanket ban on the use of mobile phone by children at schools while the teachers could use the facility outside classrooms. The ban had reportedly come to force in the wake of a porn MMS allegedly filmed by schoolchildren in New Delhi that time. Not only students, teachers and other staff too in the school and colleges are still using mobiles phones in the working hours.
