JAMMU, Feb 10: Matters relating to the implementation of the Medical Council of India (MIC) Rules in Jammu and Kashmir were discussed at a high level meeting chaired by Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah here today.
After threadbare discussion on various aspects of the issue in the meeting, the Chief Minister constituted a Committee headed by the Chief Secretary for looking into the issue in detail and coming up with a comprehensive proposal.
Minister for Finance, Abdul Rahim Rather, Minister for Health, Shyam Lal Sharma, Minister for Medical Education, R. S. Chib, Minister of State for Health, Javid Ahmad Dar, Chief Secretary, Madhav Lal, Principal Secretary Health and Medical Education, R. K. Jerath, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, B. B. Vyas, Principals of Medical and Dental Colleges of Jammu and Srinagar, various senior officers, President, Medical Teachers Association, Jammu, Dr. Tariq Azad and President, Medical Faculty Association, Srinagar, Dr. Munir Masoodi were present in the meeting.
