Nursing programme begins at SKIMS

JAMMU, Feb 11: A ten days DGHS sponsored continuing nursing education programme organized by College of Nursing, Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences under the theme ‘role of nurse in emergencies’ started today in SKIMS Auditorium.
Topics to be dealt during the ten days deliberation will be role of nurse in emergencies related to neuro-nursing, cardiovascular and respiratory nursing, endocrine nursing and orthopedic nursing, assessment and management of burns, basic life support and demonstration of skill practice in CPR, pediatric , acute abdomen, surgical, genito-urinary and other common medical emergencies. The aim of this ten days programme is to refresh and up-grade the knowledge and skill of participants about management of emergencies at various levels to improve the outcome.
Program was inaugurated by Director SKIMS Dr. Abdul Hamid Zargar. Programme is being attended by Para-medical staff of SKIMS besides nursing personnel from SKIMS and various Hospitals of Kashmir.
