Aaditya’s “Daastan” touches human psychological chords

Jammu, Feb 11: Nav Durga Kala Manch today staged “Adhuri Daastaan”, a Hindustani play, written and directed by Aaditya Bhanu at “Performing Arts” Studio , Arya Girls’ high school, Tangewali Gali, Kachi Chowni, Jammu.
Sudhir Mahajan,Phd. Dramatics, was the chief guest on the occasion .The play was assisted by Reetu Manhas.
The plot revolved around immortal love between a boy and a girl. The central character Shazi, who is admitted in mental asylum for treatment, fails to recover. His friend Raj who is settled in America comes to know about his friend. He quickly returns to meet him.
After consulting with Doctor; he takes Shazi to his home for further treatment. But the doctor had already told him that it was very impossible for Shazi to get recovered with medicines, the only way to get him cured was that if any girl may come to his life then he will may get recovered because the reason of Shazi’s illness was the girl who was died in an accident in front of Shazi’s eye.
After a long thought, Raj makes a plan with her fiancé Sheetal, that she will become Shazi’s love and help him in getting recovered.
She firstly denies but finally she gets ready to do this for the sake of his love Raj. After 2 or 3 months, Shazi recovers but unfortunately Sheetal gets involved in Shazi’s love, on the other side, Raj was very happy because his friend was fine, but he also gets disturbed by losing his fiancé, but he controls himself.
At the end, Raj is thinking of Shazi when suddenly Sheetal comes to his home and starts cyring.
After a word with her, Raj comes to know that his friend was dead in an accident at the same place where his lover Divya had died.
Both Sheetal and Raj fall on their knees as there remains nothing to say for both of them.
The artists who performed in the play were Dilshad Shazi as Shazi, Reetu Manhas as Sheetal, Aaditya Bhanu as Raj, Bharti Bhat as Divya, Pagal as Aman Verma, and Doctor as Parteek Mujjoo. The play was highly acclaimed by the audience and theatre personalities of J&K. Shashi Bhushan presented vote of thanks to chief guests.
