Missing student's body recovered from Chenab | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 11: The body of an 11th class Model Academy student, who had gone missing under mysterious circumstances from here last month, was today recovered from Chenab river at Mirpur in Pargwal area of Akhnoor. Abhimanyu Sharma (17) of Reshamghar Colony went to his maternal uncle's shop at Bawa here on January 11 last to deliver lunch box. From there, he left for his tution class, but was not seen by anybody after that, police sources said. After his family brought the matter to their notice, police started making search for him and in the process, recovered his bag from the bank of chenab river at Akhnoor. His body was found floating today on the river bank by some locals, said to be his cousins, who informed police. Cops reached the spot and evacuated the body to the GMC hospital where a board of doctors conducted post-mortem on it. The body was later handed over to his family for last rites. The family alleged that he had been murdered by someone. Police had already registered a case in this connection. He was said to be good in studies and had secured distinction in 10th class. His elder sister was pursuing MBBS in Srinagar. His father, who worked in sheep and animal husbandry department, had allegedly committed suicide some time back.
