KAS aspirants allege disparities in results | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 12: A deputation of aggrieved candidates of recently held KAS exam visited BJP headquarters today to lodge their protest against disparity in the final selection list declared two days ago. State General Secretary Sat Sharma gave a patient hearing to the members of deputation. Some of the disparities spelt out by these aggrieved candidates referred to discrimination in the selection between Kashmir and Jammu provinces. According to them, out of a total of 396 selected candidates, Kashmir got a major share of 162 in open merit and that too of a particular community while out of 234 selected from Jammu, only 28 Hindu candidates were in open merit while 96 candidates were from reserved category. Sat Sharma while expressing concern, said that this will lead to further frustration among educated youth at a time when Agriculture, forest technocrats and physiotherapist are already on protests for that last few month. He also took Congress Minister and MLAs from Jammu to task for adopting criminal silence. Leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today held an emergency meeting in Ramsoo Block of Tehsil Banihal. According to a handout issued here today, it has been stated that a meeting was held under the chairmanship of BJP leader Rajiv Charak which was attended by delegates from village Sarguni, Chaka, Bhaderkot, Hengni, Shagun, Nachlana, Hassanbas, Sujmatna, Ramsoo, Magherkot and other areas. Moor Mohammad and President Muslim Morcha BJP Mohammed Iqbal said that four rooms building of sub-centre (Dispensary) of Sarogni was constructed three years ago but staff is yet to be there. Mandal President Banihal Mushtaq Itoo, Mandal General Secretary Bhim Singh and Rajiv Charak claimed that all the claims of state government are hollow and baseless.
