| Special status to JK real problem : Prof Chaman | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Feb 12: Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) has warned serious repercussions if any
steps were taken to reverse the integration process of the State with rest of the country.
Advocating free flow of Indian Constitution like other parts of the country in Jammu and Kashmir, the leader of the BJP Legislature Party, Prof Chaman Lal Gupta has observed that many problems in this State have cropped up due to separate status guaranteed under Article-370, though a temporary provision which unfortunately still existed in the statue book even after expiry of over 60 years.
Commenting upon the appointment and subsequence activities of the interlocutors Prof. Gupta termed it as pass time exercise and this sort of fiddling with the problems could lead to more complicacies
than any good. Their repeated observations clearly indicate that under certain internal and external pressures, the Congress led dispensation at the Centre has already made up their mind on certain
issues and these interlocutors have been employed to use them as their tools.
In this regard, Prof. Gupta particularly referred to the observations being made by these “wise persons” and said the latest one after their 2-days visit in Jammu and Udhampur have confirmed our belief when they said “special status of Jammu and Kashmir must not be disturbed”. But the real problem, he added, is the so called special status. In this regard, Prof. Gupta said that the slogans of Azadi, plebiscite,
autonomy, self rule etc are the off shoot of said communal partition of India in 1947 and it was highly deplorable that the Congress leadership had not learnt any lesson from the painful events of this
division, which was of course deceitful by those who had been telling the countrymen that communal division will come on their dead bodies. Prof. Gupta maintained that the problems in J&K are creation of the machinations of certain foreign elements or their agents. The solution needed a firm handling for which the national awakening is a must to oppose and expose those who are acting as instruments of such forces.
