KAS selection list | Aspirants allege selected KAS candidates managed fake RBAs | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 12: At a time when the Kashmir Administrative Service (KAS) result has been declared by the state government, candidates from the Ramban have alleged that outsiders have taken advantage of the RBA category from the district to get selected for the administrative service. The candidates alleged that most of the selected candidates from the district have managed fake RBA category certificates to enter the administrative service of the state. “Most of the selected have not passed their Matriculation or have done basic schooling from the district and have managed to get certificates in connivance with the district officials”, alleged a candidate. They alleged that for getting a RBA category certificate, a candidate who applies for the post under any category needs to have had studied in local school and must have been lived in the area for 15-years. “These norms have been violated this time and non-residents who have not spent even five years in the district have managed to pass the examination. This need to be probed as most of them belong to influential famalies”, alleged a candidate. Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission Thursday declared the much awaited results of the Combined Competitive Examination (KAS) and finalized the names of 392 candidates who have qualified the interview stage for appearing before the Medical Board. The preliminary KAS examination was conducted on May 23 and 24, 2009 and the results were declared on July 31. About 10000 candidates qualified the first round but only around 7500 candidates appeared in the second round (KAS Mains Exam-2009) for 398 posts. In its notification No.PSC/EXAM/11/25 dated 10.02.2011, the JKPSC has made it clear that the list containing the roll numbers and names of 392 candidates shall by no means be considered to be the final selection list. “As per Rule-32 of the JKPSC (Conduct of Examination Rules) 2005 the final selection list shall be notified only after the medical examination of the short listed candidates is conducted. Further as per rules, the marks secured by the candidates who appeared in the CCSE, 2009 (Mains) written examination and viva voce shall be conveyed to them only after the final selection is notified,” reads the notification.
