NC welcomes CM’s steps towards Kashmiri migrants’ welfare | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Feb 12: NC has welcomed the steps and measures being taken by the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for the welfare for Kashmiri migrants. Addressing a public meeting at Nagrota, Ashok Koul advisor to Youth National Conference and Jatin Bhat, president youth National Conference has requested the Chief Minister, that non-camp migrants who are residing in rented accommodations for the last two decades may also be allotted to them alongwith camp dwellers. Ashok Koul thanked the Chief Minister for visiting Jagti before the quarters are being allotted to the Kashmiri migrants. Jatin Bhat requested the Chief Minister to pass the Shrine and Temple Bill to safeguard the Shrines and Temples in the valley. Ashok Koul requested the coalition Government to give is relaxation in the recruitment of Kashmiri migrants and Prime Minister Package and also to start recruitment for further 3000 posts. Ashok Koul also urged upon the Government to establish three townships at Srinagar, Baramulla, Anantnag for rehabilitation of Kashmiri migrants to save the composite culture of Kashmir. He also requested the Central Government to enhance the cash relief of Kashmiri Pandit migrants from Rs. 5000 to Rs. 10000/- per month in these hard times when prices have touched the sky. Both the leaders requested the concerned authorities that encroached land and property of many migrants and Temples and Shrines be evacuated. Both leaders of NC welcomed the large number of youth who joined the National Conference in their presence. They also thanked the UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for taking their personal interest towards the problems being faced by Kashmiri migrants.
