| Purkhoo camp demands uninterrupted power supply | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Feb 12: An emergency meeting of migrants living in Purkhoo Camp was held under the chairmanship of Roshan Lal Raina, member Apex Committee and expressed their serious anguish over the attitude of PDD for non-supply of electricity to the camp dwellers. People blamed the department for installation of defective transformer in III lane of the Camp which failed to provide the supply.
They repeatedly approached the department but concerned authorities turned a deaf ear towards their problem.
The days are nearing for Shivratri festival and students have to appear in examination but the authorities are in deep asleep.
The camp dwellers decided to launch a strong protest on Monday 14th Feb 2011 and warned that the protesters can go to any extent. The responsibility will be borne by P.D.D authorities, it said .
Further the migrants demanded quality ration and release of sugar quota in favour of migrant employees of the camp, release of relief in advance on Shivratri festival and provision of basic supplies in view Shivratri festival.
Among others the meeting was addressed by H.N Bhat, P L Bhan, O.N Kaw Lal Koul, C L Bhat, Ravi Ji Sapru, M.K Raina, S.N Bandari Maharaj Krishan Wali and B.L Raina.
