Two days medical camp held by JYBT

JAMMU, Feb 12: Two days’ free medical camp for cancer patients, organized by Jammu Yatri Bhawan Trust was inaugurated by Devinder Singh Rana, Advisor to the J&K Chief Minster.
Padamshree Dr Ashok Vaid, son of the soil, chairman Iconology and Haematology Cancer Institute Medanta (The Medicity) Gurgaon gave free medical check up and consultation to eighty cancer related patients on the first day.
This is the twelfth free medical camp organized by Jammu Yatri Bhawan Trust, where prominent doctors from Medanta( The Medicity) Gurgaon have been providing consultation and check up to patients suffering from various ailments.
Speaking on the occasion, Rana felicitated Dr Ashok Vaid for his distinguished services in rendering free consultation and check up to the cancer related patients in Jammu, in the camps organized by JYBT.
He said that Jammu in particular and the J&K state are proud of the son of soil, Dr. Ashok Vaid for having excelled and achieved distinguished position in the medical field not only in the country but in many foreign lands also.
He said that it shows his greatness and a sense of belonging for his birth land that he has been rendering free medical services to the people in Jammu.
Briefing the media Pawan Shastri, president of the Trust and Dr. Ashok Vaid dwelt at steps being taken to augment the medical services in Jammu by the renowned doctors in various disciplines in providing free or very cheap medical services to the poor patients.
They also disclosed that Dr. Naresh Trehan, Founder Chairman Medanta (The Medicity) Gurgaon and a world renowned Cardiological Surgeon has assured them that he would be personally visiting Jammu, most probably towards the end of March this year, to finalize with Jammu Yatri Bhawan, how to step by step augment providing of medical services to the people here.
The free medical camps organized by JYBT are presently being held at the residential premises of Pawan Shastri at 3, Shakti Nagar Jammu. But the Yatri Bhawan Trust envisages to ultimately set up a full fledged outdoor medical center, in a part of the Yatri Bhawan Trust building under construction at BC Road Jammu. The scheme includes setting up of a full fledged laboratory with all the required equipments for detail investigation of the patients suffering from various ailments.
