VKMI takes out Halla-Bhol Vishal rally against corruption | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Feb 12: As a part of intensification of its all out campaign against corruption in public life and administration, Vichar Kranti Manch International took out Halla-Bhol Vishal rally in Jammu city. The rally was organized by Vichar Kranti Manch International, in collaboration with dozens of NGOs, educational institutions and intellectuals. Ashok Bhan, former DGP/Vigilance Commissioner J&K and presently member National Security Advisory Board flagged off the rally from Parade Ground Jammu. MR Puri, former Vice Chancellor Jammu University, Ved Ghai a prominent social activist and a literary figure, chairman Vasudev Katumbham and Ashwani Kumar Sharma MLA were also present in the rally. Commencing from Prade Ground Jammu and passing through Purani Mandi, City Chowk, Raghunath bazaar, Gurudwara Sunder Singh road, Vivekananda Chowk it culminated outside Press Club Jammu. Addressing the rally, the distinguished personalities lauded the role of Vichar Kranti Manch International in becoming a catalyst in the drive to eradicate corruption from all walks of life. They also appreciated the role of some NGOs, intellectuals and enlightened citizens in making their contribution in the drive against corruption. The founder VKMI, RR Khajuria urged upon the State and Central governments to take stern actions against corrupt elements in any walk of life, so that the same proves deterrent for all indulging in corruption. VKMI stressed upon the need for effective enforcement of right to information act, accountability law, vigilance organizations and egovernance as a part of the measures to eradicate corruption. It also urged upon the Govt. as well as the educational institutions to introduce moral and ethical education in the curriculum of educational institutions and also in the judiciary police force and administration. The prominent among those who participated in the rally and addressed the same included I D Soni, Gurmeet Singh, S K Jain, Madan Mohan Sharma, Baldev Singh, H N TIckoo, Subash Rekhi, Usha Tickoo, S Balvinder Singh, Hafiz Fani, Mulkh Raj, Bimaghi, P K Dhar, C M Sharma, Kulbhushan Khajuria and others. A memorandum was submitted to the Chief Minister at his official resident listing the demands aimed at eradicating corruption.
