| Minister's guard held for eve-teasing | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KATHUA, Feb 12: A special police officer (SPO), posted as a guard at the residence of cooperatives minister Manohar Lal Sharma at Kishanpur Dungra in Billawar near here, was today arrested by police in an alleged case of eve-teasing.
Police sources said SPO Ashok Kumar -- a guard at Manohar's Kishanpur Dungra residence -- allegedly teased Swarna Devi of Mandli last evening and passed obscene remarks on her.
The girl brought the matter to the notice of her parents, who lodged a report with the Billawar police station in this regard this morning.
Acting the complaint, police arrested the SPO and booked him under section 294 of RPC.
Sources said when the alleged incident took place, the accused was said to be drunk. |
