| Four trucks carrying 27 bovine seized, 7 persons held | | | JAMMU NOV-10 Police today foiled attempts to smuggle bovines from Jammu to Srinagar and seized four trucks carrying 27 bovine and took seven persons into custody. Acting on a tip off, a police team from Manwal led by Chowki Incharge Surinder Singh laid a naka and intercepted three trucks .On search, 21 bovines being smuggled to Kashmir were recovered from these trucks. Six persons were taken into custody in this regard. They include Parvez Ahmed, Bilal Ahmed, Javid Ahmwed of Kulgam, Sukhdev Singh of Biaspur, Surjeet Singh and Rakesh Kumar of Gurdaspur. Police have registered a case and started investigations. In another such raid Batote Police seized a truck carrying six bovine and arrested one person in this regard. The alleged accused identified as Parvez Ahmed son of Ghulam Nabi of Ramban confessed during questioning that the bovine were being smuggled to Kashmir.
