JAMMU, Feb 13: A good number of Thang-Ta players from Jammu and Kashmir have been selected by the national body for the 1st World Thang-Ta Championship going to be held at Khuman Lampak Indoor Stadium, Imphal in Manipur from March 11.
Being organised under the banner of World Thang-Ta Council, the event shall last for four days.
The selected players, considering their achievements in the recently held Federation Cup, have been divided into three categories of A, B and C by the Jammu and Kashmir Thang-Ta Association.
While team-A shall include the gold medalist in Federation Cup, the team-B shall be having silver medal winners. Similarly, in team-C there will be bronze medalists.
Meanwhile, the Association has advised the selected players to report at Islamiya College of Science and Commerce, Hawal in Srinagar along with two passport size photographs on February 15.

Team A: Saima Jan, Amina Mehraj, Sabiya Kirmani, Kounsar Jan, Ishrat Rafiq , Unjuman Farooq, Ferooz Ahmad Ganie, Arafat Hakeem, Naseer Ahmad, Rajesh Kumar
Team B: Arbina Yousf, Hafeeza Akhter, Afra Binti Iqbal, Seerat Qayoom, Aliya Rashid, Bushra Bhat, Showkat Latif, Jalid Imtiyaz, Sajad Ahmad Dar, Wazir Ahmad, Tanzeera Fayaz, Neelofar Latif, Samina Akhter, Shehnaz, Parvaiz Ahmad, Irshad Ahmad Dar, Paras Manzoor
Team C: Hafsa Handoo, Nusrat Altaf, Kulsum, Iram Iqbal, Iqra Hafeez, Tawseefa, Qurat Ul Ain.
