JWAM holds protest against traffic snarls in city

JAMMU Feb 13 : In continuation in its struggle to streamline the worst traffic scenario in the city, Jammu West Assembly Movement, president, Sunil Dimple today staged a protest demonstration against the government failure to solve the traffic problem .
Hundreds of irate traders, residents of various localities of Jammu west Constituency under the banner of Jammu West Assembly Movement burnt the effigy and took out the ‘shub yatra” of the coalition government as no development” was taking place to solve the traffic problem in the Jammu city and particularly in the Jammu west assembly constituency.
Addressing the protestors, Dimple demanded the chief minister Omar Abdullah to “start the construction work of flyovers” immediately at Rehari Chowk, Jewel Chowk and Vikram Chowk to solve the worst traffic problems as the people of Jammu City were facing grave situation.
Dimple demanded the chief minister to start the metro and monorails in Jammu City to Samba, Kathua, Akhnoor, R.S. Pura and to the adjoining towns of the Jammu District.
He further demanded to “ install traffic signal lights” in the city, ban the pressure horns overloading. He also demanded “CNG” matadors, busses and autos to stop the pollution problem in the city.
He said all the roads of the city and the Amphala, New Plot, Janipur High Court, Bantalab road have been converted into death trap roads and every day fatal accidents are taking place on this road due to heavy rush of traffic. He also demanded four way circular roads from Amphalla Manda to Janipur High Court upto Roop Nagar Bantalab and from Jewal chowk to Bhagati nagar upto talab tillo to Ease traffic rush on the New Plot Janipur High Court ban talab road the project is already lying with the P.W.D department for approval & allocation of funds.
Other prominent protestants are Dr OP Jandiyal, Sham Saroop, Rajinder Verma Mohinder Dev Thappa.
